Tips For Ice Cream Sundae Bar:

If you are serving more than just a couple of people, you might want to consider pre scooping ice cream. This will make the process go much faster.

You can scoop it and keep in the freezer until ready to serve. We did this for a school party and it really helped move the line along. People can grab their ice cream and go straight to the toppings instead of waiting for someone to scoop the ice cream.

This can be done in small bowls or cups. You can also freeze it in a muffin tin. This is great for parties and also takes up less room in the freezer.

Oh and make sure you have ice cream scoops. >

How Do You Set Up An Ice Cream Bar

Icecream bar

Before breaking out the ice cream, sauces, and toppings, youll need containers to hold everything in. First, decide how youll want to serve the ice cream. Are you going to use cones, cups, or both? If youre using sugar cones, you can neatly stack them on top of each other and cover them in cute wrappings. If youre opting for cups, decide if you want to go with ceramic bowls, paper cups, or even edible waffle cone bowls.

Ice Cream Scoop

Next, you have to make some decisions about the ice cream itself. How should you serve it? Jenn usually opts to scoop the ice cream directly from the original containers. “If you’d like to pre-scoop to make things easier, you can add scoops into individual Mason jars and keep the jars on ice in an ice chest,” she says. The blogger also suggests pre-scooping the ice cream and placing it on covered cookie sheets in the freezer, then bringing it out right before serving.

Ice Cream Party Backdrop

Ice Cream Themed Birthday Party Decor (HOUSE TOUR)

So, I was hoping that the backdrop would look like ice cream melting down the sides of an ice cream cone.

Not so sure that effect worked out.

Regardless, the balloon garland still looked fantastic. It was seriously a show stopper even if it took most of my prep time to pull together. And the whole thing was a fun, and unique take on party backdrops.

How To Set Up An Ice Cream Sundae Bar At Home Perfect For Weddings Birthday Parties Or Just Because

Good Humor Birthday Cake Ice Cream Bar Video Review: Freezerburns (Ep617)

As I’m sure you all know by now, Josh & I got married 4 weeks ago. It was the most magical day and I can’t WAIT to share some of the photos with you when we get them back from the photographer!

We did a lot of DIY and had everything that we loved. Including making our own ice cream sundae bar!

About a year and a half before the wedding I thought it would be a great idea to have an ice cream sundae bar for dessert. 6 months later I went to a friends wedding and they had one! It was a done deal…summer wedding dessert perfection.

It couldn’t be easier to set up and is so easily customised. We kept it super simple – vanilla ice cream, sprinkles, chocolate chips, marshmallows & chocolate sauce, but you could choose your favourite flavour ice cream and any toppings you like. If I was doing this again I would pick a few different sauces but I had just a few other things to organise for the wedding so chocolate it was. Aaaand 1kg of sprinkles that we are still working our way through, 1 sprinkles slice & bake cookie at a time!

We pre scooped the ice cream and put the scoops back in the freezer until we needed them which was a great decision. You could even scoop them into the bowl you are going to serve them in so that you can just pull it out and have it ready to go. We put the toppings in preserving jars and I bought little plastic squeezy bottles for about $1.50 each from a party store. The paper cups also came from there.
